Jessica Headley named new Fox News First co-anchor
SAN ANTONIO - Jessica Headley will join Ernie Zuniga as the co-anchor of Fox News First each weekday morning from 5 to 9 a.m. on Fox San Antonio.
Jessica has been anchoring the newscast on a fill-in basis since Monica Taylor resigned to join CPS Energy last month. Fox News First is one of San Antonio's top morning newscasts, and the only local news in the market weekday morning from 7 to 9 a.m. Headley joins meteorologist Shaun Stevens and co-anchor Ernie Zuniga as a regular part of the Fox News First morning team, along with feature reporter Cleto Rodriguez.
"I have enjoyed watching Jessica excel in her traffic reports and in the various roles she has played at our stations," said Fox News First co-anchor Ernie Zuniga. "I have no doubt that she will continue to be a solid contributor and that our viewers will embrace her in this new role on FOX News First. I look forward to seeing her bring her unique personality and insight every morning as my new co-anchor."
During her three years at Fox San Antonio, Headley has served as the morning traffic reporter for both Fox San Antonio and News 4 San Antonio, and hosted the local movie review program Santikos Film Flickers, airing on KMYS CW 35. A search has begun to fill those roles for the Sinclair San Antonio stations.
"We are very fortunate to have someone of Jessica's talents on our staff with the ability to step into this key role on FOX News First (FNF)," stated Dean Radla, General Manager of KABB-TV. "Jessica's history on the show and the comfort level that her past appearances on FNF create with our viewers make the transition seamless, and enable us to maintain our momentum and growth in the ratings."
