Volunteers rally to raise money for abused dog
SAN ANTONIO - A dog that suffered horrendous abuse is now healing thanks to the support and generosity of his caregivers, but he needs more help.
San Antonio Pets Alive! says Courage - a 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier - was found with cigarette burns on his back and very raw wounds on his front legs that left his bones exposed.
Volunteers who are caring for Courage say he is doing better and seems to love snuggling. His sweet-natured spirit seems to keep him going.
But the treatment is expensive. Courage currently needs sugar wraps for his legs and medicine for his eyes. Workers are also searching for a foster home where Courage can recover in a loving environment.
